Tussgubben combines traditional Norwegian fiddling with digital synthesis and voice using a Pure Data live sequencer with timing determined by body movement, stomping and electromagnetic fields.

Elise Macmillan (CA/US) plays as emacs using strings, voice, and ambient sounds with live sequencer built in PureDataShe performs on hardingfele and violin and creates sound for video works and installations using open software/electronics.

Current projects include Heavy Melodies for Seals, a two-part music performance and exhibition in Lausanne, Switzerland and Oslo, Norway and she will release as a solo project, Night Blooming Planet, on felix onyx at the end of 2017.

She is researching timing variability and rhythm in Norwegian fiddling and creating open hardware/software environments with flexible timing based on this.
